INTERNI Design Re-Generation
Pininfarina Architecture designs Wave, two lounges furnished with the Higold Onda Collection designed by Pininfarina. The project rethinks the ever-changing, mutual contamination between indoor and outdoor environments by proposing a hybrid, versatile corner that transcends rigid spatial conventions – a new place for relaxation where home and garden furnishings and finishes blend harmoniously. Ceramica Fioranese for the flooring, Zumtobel for the lighting system, and Nieder for the metal edging collaborated on the project. | 6-13 June, Università degli Studi di Milano
RoGUILTLESS PLASTIC 2022
Pininfarina returns to the 2022 Fuorisalone RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC Prize, after its Fuorisalone 2021 success with URBAN LOUNGE, with yet another structure in recycled plastic, but this time in the form of an organic bench. The challenge, called Gentle touch of re-WASTE, consists in temporarily reclaiming a marginal green public space by inviting bystanders, and citizens in general, to use the tree shaded strip just outside Palazzo Bandello. Pininfarina Architecture chose to achieve this reclaim gesture by using recycled plastic from wrecked car bumpers to create HALO, a site specific and organic formed bench. The goal is to demonstrate that plastic materials do not generate negative externalities as such, but that they can instead be extraordinary resources for a more sustainable future. The primary culprit of pollution not being plastic itself, but its misuse and its abuse. | 6-12 June, Giardino Bandello
Meta-Waste Rossana Orlandi
Pininfarina returns to the 2022 Fuorisalone RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC, after its Fuorisalone 2021 success, with a completely new project: after its launch experience with the Modulo NFT, Pininfarina Architecture was appointed by Red Group to realize an installation for its Smart House project. Through the storytelling of a performance NFT, the aim is to doubling into its own digital counterpart a real estate project that will contribute to the twenty-plus year reclamation plan of the ex-Scalo di Porta Romana area, next to the future Olympic Village and Prada Foundation. The project relates to an innovative residential real estate development backed by Red Group (USA), conceived, and designed by Pininfarina and built by Torchio & Daghero, to showcase the off-site manufacturing and sustainable construction paradigms that have been widely used by Pininfarina Architecture around the world.
