De Rosa and Pininfarina present De Rosa 70, to celebrate the 70th birthday of De Rosa. Lightness and technique, without compromise. Pure blood stiffness, superior performance. Aerodynamics, fast by tradition. A 730-gram chassis, light, elegant aerodynamic. Twenty-two months from idea to development with maniacal attention to every single detail. Design by Pininfarina, a solid Italian partnership. Heart and emotions, no compromises. The result: the most evolved De Rosa ever.
It is the De Rosa bike that encloses the all, contains every single drop of passion poured by Ugo and the whole De Rosa Family, for all those who live every day a bike of the heart. I have never ridden a bike like that. We are proud that De Rosa has decided to collaborate with us to design the icon for celebrate 70 years since its foundation. The 70 is an expression of all the values that have always characterized our collaboration: iconic, aesthetic excellence and performance without equal. Proud to be next to our partner on this anniversary with a jewel of design and Technology.
The Way
The team of Pininfarina worked on the design of the bike De Rosa 70 and on some specific elements. The tube of the steering series has no edges, no impediment to aerodynamic flow. A gentle shape, a “cradle” that perfectly accommodates and integrates all cables. The aesthetic is clean, the front impact incisive: ZERO OFFSET. The horizontal tube has a linear continuity, is slightly slope and creates a perfect proportion with the off-series seat tube: hexagonal, sharp ready to cut the wind. But the real evolution is in the wagon, a true masterpiece of technique and knowledge. The angles are imposed, the weight remains reduced, the air flows away. We go down to the bottom bracket box, sinuous, smooth. Futuristic and solid at the same time.
The Idea
The high modulus carbon is distributed smoothly and progressively throughout the frame. From the 5K view of the wagon and its defined texture, passing to the 1K that fades in unidirectional on the frame body, in its entirety. Technically, low weight and an optical effect never seen before. Stiffness is what has always distinguished the bikes of the heart. Now we close our eyes and caress with a finger all the surface chassis.
