Il Resto Del'Alba

Overall, Il Resto Del’Alba is an exhibition that invites its visitor to a deeper reflection on the future of Mankind. This reflection is fueled by the symbolic of the materials and elements used to bring this space to life, Pininfarina designed the aluminum skin that separates the inner space from the cave’s partition. This aluminum membrane was assembled on site in a puzzle-like manner from laser cut aluminum pieces that allow a bit of light to go through. Indeed, hidden behind the membrane, there is a projection of lights that set the desired atmosphere for the visitor.

The Opposition between the man statues and the double sun represents the past that faces the future. Indeed, the folded double sun goes from blue to yellow, symbolizing the passing of time, from the dark colors that precede dawn to the bright colors of dusk. In that opposition, the lights from outside the membrane represent the digital world, they are outside of the frontier established by the aluminum membrane but still set the atmosphere in the dialog between Man and time. This suggests that Mankind is only dependent on the sun, which appears as a beacon of hope, whereas the digital world, no matter its influence is only superficial in this dialog between past and future because it is outside the membrane, beyond the real world.
