To deliver on the great challenge to design the continuity of such a product, Pininfarina kept in mind the core advantages of Tecton. Tecton II reinvents itself in terms of flexibility by offering an installation that’s on average 70% faster and a glue-free design, meaning it can be entirely (dis)assembled without tools, giving the possibility to attach cameras or detectors. Regarding sustainability, Tecton Is made with up to 34% recycled materials and has a recyclability of 77%.
Another important point in this project was to be able to create a product that, like its predecessor, lasts. This is a task that Pininfarina completed by focusing on a robust functional design. The Tecton II’s lifetime can indeed reach 100,000 hours and it has greatly improved in terms of energetic efficiency but, above all, the product has been designed to be timeless. All in all, this project, while being singular compared to others, embodies Pininfarina’s designing philosophy, It’s an elegant, functional and timeless design.
