Located in the exclusive district of Soho in Hong Kong, The Italian club has been redesigned by Pininfarina in 2023, its design has been tailored around one specific idea, creating an exclusive, Mediterranean experience. This task mainly revolved around one aspect, the atmosphere. To recreate an atmosphere common to places that define the Mediterranean culture, two pillars were exploited, color and texture. It’s Imagined similarly to the way a Michelin star plate is assembled. Different pieces of design assemble and create synergies that make the customer live an experience that is unique and feels Taylor made.
The color palette used reminds the different elements of the Mediterranean Sea. Whether it is the beach, with the combination of the white and deep blue, the foam left by the waves with the use of neutral colors, the copper-colored details on the furniture and cutlery, echoing to the traditional use of copper in the region. Or even the Blue used in the bathroom and VIP area that gives the feeling of being underwater. Every color used has a meaning and tries to recreate this atmosphere that is the comunality that the regions around the Mediterranean sea share.
Another way to embody the tradition of the mediterranean in this club was to play with texture. The entrance’s perforated metal façade gives an unmatched privacy sentiment to the room while the large fabric ceiling echoes to the movement of waves, bringing the customer’s experience even closer to the Mediterranean shores. The texture has also been used on the floor by drawing black traces on the white floor, showing resemblance with the foam left by the waves on the beach. Altogether the design thinking behind this landmark is to Create an experience that embodies the Mediterranean culture, from the atmosphere, all the way to the palate.
