The Project

Re-thinking traditional parquet, characterized by repetitive geometrical design, the collection turns a static wooden surface into a dynamic one. Driven by an impulse – or a spontaneous desire to move – the surface transforms its wooden nature blending with other material in a progressive rhythm. These impulses create subtle kinesthesia, underlining the simplicity and beauty of a quadrilateral shape, and contaminating floors and walls.

The Way

The union of two materials in an unprecedented surface allows to play with gradients and compositions, creating different functions. The three selected gradients along with their color stimulate energizing or soothing moods, engaging users to interact with spaces. “Ombreggiato” (or “shaded”) gradient, with restorative whites and natural neutral colours, creates a balanced and timeless aesthetic; “Mandorlato”, like almonds immersed in milk, suggests warm and energetic hue, perfect for spaces seeking optimism; “Sottobosco” instead takes you to a forest, bringing moss-like freshness and softness to spaces. All the gradients suggest the use of different tints of Corà wood mixed with concrete look-like Laminam ceramic tiles, while “Sottobosco” introduces the green onyx marble as well, imitating the sunbeam effect once backlit.

The Idea

Impulso is conceived to be as close as possible to a natural surface. The opposite direction of wooden veins in every element enriches the design, appealing to one’s eyes and emphasizing the moving spirit of “Impulso”. The combination of warm wooden essences with palpable concrete look-like ceramics or fresh marble inserts stimulates one’s touch. Such a design, rich in details, allows the incorporation of man made elements, mimicking the presence of essential tech in the natural surface. As a result, electric plugs or light switches are hidden, leaving the focus on nature as the main design inspiration.
