The Project
Pininfarina and Reflex presented in world premiere at the Milan Design Week an innovative chair for home: Nido. It is another result of the partnership following the greatsuccess met by Sit, elegant seat thta marked the beginning of the collaboration in the Nineties’.
The Way
Niche, with its introverted personality without being shy, is a versatile chair designed for different types of environments, from the conviviality of dining to the composure of the office. The Pininfarina team envisioned soft, continuous lines for the product, in a single continuous volume, without sacrificing the special feature of the back cut, bringing lightness and openness. Regarding the choice of materials, the shell is rigid and wooden, contrasting with the soft elements of the interior, which give an idea of coziness and protection; moreover, it is wider and more inviting than ordinary chairs. Finally, the detail of the backrest: a metal element that serves as a handle, which is both functional and singular. Niche is not only versatile, thanks to the contrast of rigid, protective elements and soft opening elements, but it can also be customized and personalized according to the wishes of the customer, who can make it 100 percent his own.
