Role Summary

Pininfarina of America seeks a Florida-licensed Senior Architect to join our Miami studio. The ideal candidate combines strong conceptual design talent with advanced technical expertise and proven experience delivering complex architectural projects across multiple scales and typologies. You will play a key role in leading projects from concept through construction, ensuring design excellence, technical rigor, and seamless coordination with clients, consultants, and contractors.

Responsibilities

·         Lead design from pre-design/programming through SD, DD, CD, bidding/negotiation, and Construction Administration.

·         Translate design intent into clear, coordinated, and buildable documentation with an emphasis on precision, constructability, and performance.

·         Coordinate with internal design teams and external consultants across disciplines (structural, MEP, façade, landscape, and interiors).

·         Develop detailed technical solutions, particularly in the areas of building envelopes, structural integration, life safety, and accessibility.

·         Administer projects during construction, including submittal review, RFI responses, site visits and punch lists.

·         Ensure compliance with Florida Building Code.

·         Research materials, products, and innovative construction methods aligned with sustainability, performance, and local environmental conditions.

·         Prepare technical narratives, code analyses, and coordination drawings to support permitting and client approvals.

·         Manage schedules, deliverables, and budgets using Resource Management by Smartsheet and collaborate with Project Managers to monitor project progress.

·         Contribute to the culture of design excellence and multidisciplinary collaboration that defines Pininfarina’s holistic approach.

 

·         Qualifications & Skills

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.

·         Licensed Architect in the State of Florida (required).

·         Knowledge of Florida Building Code

·         8–10 years of professional experience with complex, large-scale, and international projects.

·         Strong aesthetic sensibility combined with advanced technical understanding.

·         Demonstrated ability to lead design coordination between consultants and clients.

·         Deep understanding of construction detailing, envelope systems, building materials, and fabrication methods.

·         Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

·         Exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail.

·         Fluent in English; proficiency in Italian or Portuguese is a plus.

·         Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

 

Technical Proficiency

·         Design & Modeling: Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit (advanced proficiency), AutoCAD (2D production).

·         Visualization: Twinmotion or Enscape for real-time rendering and immersive presentations.

·         Documentation & Collaboration: Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft 365, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).

·         Project Planning: Resource Management by Smartsheet or similar time-tracking/project planning software.

·         Familiarity with DfMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly), prefabrication, and parametric modeling workflows.

·         Understanding sustainable design tools, LEED/WELL documentation, and embodied carbon reduction strategies is advantageous.

 

Preferred Experience

·         Expertise in façade systems, high-performance glazing, and complex geometry rationalization.

·         Exposure to mixed-use, residential, hospitality, or transportation projects.

·         Experience coordinating international design teams and external consultants across time zones.

·         Knowledge of construction administration within Florida’s regulatory environment.

·         Demonstrated ability to represent the studio in client meetings and manage multidisciplinary coordination across teams.
